We are very happy to announce that a new book about our recent work in the New Carlsbergfoundation, is out! In 2017, the New Carlsberg Fundation concluded a radical change of the interior of its domicile in Brewer J.C. Jacobsen's old brewery farm from the 1790s in Brolæggerstræde in Copenhagen. The entire renewal, which has developed a differentiated approach to rebuilding and restoration, was carried out by Elgaard Architecture and the design company Salto & Sigsgaard.
The book presents the project based on the historical character and development of Bryggergården. With veneration for its identity, the New Carlsberg Foundation has implemented a number of changes in the Bryggergården since the mid-20th century, all of which have united preservation of the complex's cultural values with radical transformations for new functional needs. The current reconstruction largely leads to dialogue with the previous interventions, but also represents a new glide in restoration approaches and interior design, where conservation, recycling and change are renewed together.
The book is bound and has a cassette, richly illustrated with both historical pictures and new photographs by Anders Sune Berg. The book's author is design researcher Lars Dybdahl.
The book is published for the New Carlsberg Foundation.
